Nina Shekhar

Nina Shekhar is a composer who explores the intersection of identity, vulnerability, love, and laughter. Her music has been performed by Eighth Blackbird, International Contemporary Ensemble, and ETHEL, and has been featured by Carnegie Hall, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Walt Disney Concert Hall, National Gallery of Art, and National Sawdust. Current projects include works for Albany Symphony, 45th Parallel Universe, Lyris Quartet, and New York Youth Symphony. Nina completed graduate studies at University of Southern California and earned undergraduate degrees in composition and chemical engineering at University of Michigan. She will begin her doctorate degree at Princeton University in Fall 2020.
