Evan Anderson

Evan Anderson is an active composer and multi-instrumentalist. He received his Bachelor degree from New England Conservatory where he studied with John Mallia and Kati Agocs. Currently, he is pursuing his master’s degree at the Juilliard School, where he studies with composer Melinda Wagner. He is currently at work on a piece for chamber ensemble, augmented with electronics, to be premiered at National Sawdust in November 2019, a work for the New Juilliard Ensemble’s 2019-2020 season, and a piece for the Juilliard orchestra with electric guitar. Evan’s music is inspired by the search for a kind of musical and sonic framework that taps into the deepest of feelings within (and even beyond) the human spirit. The erratic dynamism of nature and how it can both parallel and conflict with the human endeavors of meaning and emotion is an ever present source of inspiration for Evan.
