Jared LaFrenais is a seasoned real-estate advisor based in New York City with more than fifteen years of experience across Manhattan and Brooklyn. He currently leads JL Properties at Compass, where he represents premium residential properties and advises developers, investors, and clients seeking strategic opportunities in rapidly evolving neighborhoods.
Jared holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning from Ball State University, a foundation that informs his distinct approach to real-estate brokerage—one that blends design sensibility, neighborhood dynamics, and architectural awareness.
His expertise extends to new-development projects; he has been involved in landmark condominium and townhome launches including One Prospect Park West, 201 East 23rd Street, and 160 Imlay Street.
A longtime resident of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Jared is deeply engaged with his local community. He actively supports neighborhood-based organizations including North Brooklyn Angels and Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park, demonstrating his commitment to giving back and strengthening the place he calls home.
Outside of his professional role, Jared is a dedicated supporter of the arts. He has long followed the work of National Sawdust and appreciates how the organization integrates artistic vision, community impact, and urban place-making. He sees real-estate and cultural development as intertwined, and is excited by opportunities to apply his professional insights toward advancing institutional goals in sustainability and capital growth.
