Michelle Rocqet (she/they) is a New York City–based composer, librettist, educator, and arts organizer whose work explores identity, belonging, and collective resilience through interdisciplinary performance and storytelling. They hold a B.S. in Music Entertainment & Industry Studies with dual emphases in Recording Arts and Vocal Performance from the University of Colorado Denver, as well as an M.A. in Writing & Design for Musical Theater from Berklee College of Music.
Their original work has been supported by the New York State Council on the Arts and developed with the National Asian Artists Project, Musical Theatre Factory, and Drama Club Camp. Deeply rooted in DIY and experimental arts communities, Rocqet works as a composer, performer, collaborator, and cultural organizer. They have contributed to projects presented at Phamaly Theatre Company, Meow Wolf Convergence Station, HBO Max, and Carnegie Hall Musical Explorers.
Michelle's artistic practice informs a career in arts administration and education spanning programming, artist relations, production, and organizational leadership. Their work with organizations including Gaia Music Collective, Maestra Music, and Youth on Record reflects a commitment to building artist-centered communities and creative ecosystems. They believe that artistic work and the structures that support it are inseparable, and are dedicated to creating environments where artists can take risks, foster dialogue, and thrive.
