Nicholas Arons is a New York-based attorney and partner at Katsky Korins LLP, where he co-leads the firm's Corporate and International Private Client practices. With nearly two decades of legal experience, Arons specializes in advising international family offices, private equity funds, and high-net-worth individuals—particularly from Latin America—on cross-border transactions, business structuring, and succession planning.
Nicholas joined Katsky Korins in 2017 following a decade at a boutique firm focused on international clients and cross-border matters. His practice encompasses the structuring of acquisitions of closely held businesses, launching new ventures, and advising on joint ventures and finance deals. He has worked extensively in the restaurant and sports industries, handled aircraft purchases and registrations, and developed multi-generational trusts for family succession. His clients have included celebrity-led liquor brands, well-known consumer goods companies, restaurant chains, and global touring musicians.
In addition to his transactional work, Arons has supervised complex commercial litigation and white-collar matters. He served as counsel to the main cooperator in the FIFA conspiracy case and acts as outside general counsel to several small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, Arons regularly works with clients across Latin America.
He is also active in pro bono work, especially in support of organizations that elevate women and people of color in the music industry.
Arons earned his B.A. from Yale University in 1998. He was a Fulbright Scholar in Brazil, where he conducted research that became the basis for his nonfiction book, Waiting for Rain, published by the University of Arizona Press in 2004. He earned his J.D., cum laude, and LL.M. from New York University School of Law in 2004 and 2005, respectively. He was a Fellow in both the Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Program and the Institute for International Law and Justice. At NYU, he received several honors, including the John Sexton Award for service to the law school, the Gary E. Moncrieffe Award for outstanding work in race and law, and the John Perry Prize for exemplifying civil liberties values. He later clerked for the Hon. Rosemary S. Pooler on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers from 2021 to 2024 and was previously named a Rising Star in 2014 and 2015.
