On October 20th, National Sawdust has the honor of opening the Forró New York Weekend (Autumn Edition) Festival with a large chamber ensemble performance directed by Latin GRAMMY-nominated composer Rafael Piccolotto.

Nominated for the Latin Grammy as a classical composer, Rafael has multiple international awards as an arranger and music director. He had works premiered and recorded by artists such as the jazz legends Terence Blanchard, Chick Corea, and Brad Mehldau, renowned Brazilian artists such as Ivan Lins, Romero Lubambo, Proveta, and ensembles such as Brazil Jazz Sinfônica, Symphony of the Americas, Metropole Orkest (Netherlands) and Costa Rica National Orchestra.
