Composer, guitarist, and live coder Kyle Sanna presents the full premiere of Everything Again Is New, a set of algorithmic compositions for electronics and ensemble centered on themes of cyclical regeneration and renewal. Joined by Kinan Azmeh (clarinet, bass clarinet), Lily Holgate (violin), and Nathan Koci (accordion), Sanna (guitar, electronics) will use code to reanimate recorded fragments of his own chamber orchestra work, all while projections show the generative process itself, as text becomes sound.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

A meta-exploration of cyclical regeneration, Everything Again Is New works like an ecosystem and unfolds like a dream: musical cells divide and proliferate, melodic phrases fracture and recombine, silence surprises. It invites the audience to consider musical time as a system of overlapping cycles and urges the ear to listen differently, this night and beyond.

ABOUT KYLE SANNA

Hailed by The New Yorker as a “first-rate, versatile musician”, Brooklyn-based guitarist and composer Kyle Sanna’s musical work spans four divergent disciplines: contemporary composition, jazz and improvisation, the traditional music of Ireland, and music technology and production. His recent releases include The City Sleeps (traditional Irish tunes on solo guitar), Everything Again Is New (algorithmic electronic music), and Ground Patrol's Converge (conceptual improvisations). An album featuring Undone Landscape, his 34-min piece for clarinet, percussion, string orchestra, and live electronics, written for and performed by Kinan Azmeh and The Knights, will appear on Phenotypic Recordings in 2027.

Sanna's compositions have been performed at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, the Royal Opera House in Oman, Sydney’s ABC studios, the National Recital Hall in Taipei, New York’s Carnegie Hall, and many points between. He has received commissions from Brooklyn Rider, The Knights, Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, Palaver Strings, Beta Collide, and soprano Danielle Birrittella. Festival acceptances include the International Symposium on Electronic Art, The Oregon Bach Festival, and Art Basel Miami Beach. Sanna's “ruminative and shape-shifting” (San Francisco Chronicle) work for string quartet, Sequence for Minor White, won First Prize in the Charlotte New Music Festival Composition Competition. His music is featured in two recent films by Ken Burns: “The U.S. and the Holocaust” and "The American Revolution".

Kyle Sanna has arranged music for Béla Fleck, Jan Vogler, Anne-Sofie Von Otter, The Amsterdam Sinfonietta, and for Yo-Yo Ma on two Grammy Award-winning albums.
